Barbara Little Butler ’58, a longtime former Central College staff member and active in both the Central and Pella communities, died March 12, 2022, in Pella, Iowa.
One of the most transformative and widely respected figures in Central College history, Kenneth Jay Weller, guided the school through a period of unprecedented growth as president from 1969-90.
“The Mathematics Enthusiast” published an article prepared by Central College’s Russ Goodman, professor of mathematics and assistant women’s soccer coach, and Katelin Valster, lecturer of kinesiology and S.A.A.C. advisor.
Daniel Vos, lecturer of religious studies at Central College, will present “Love as Responsible Citizenship in Deuteronomy” from 7-8 p.m. Monday, March 21.
The Central College Visual and Performing Arts Department will present a concert of opera scenes on both Friday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 26.
Tim Olin, associate professor of history, will present “Religion, Ethnicity, Loyalty: Lessons from Central Europe” from 7-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, in Graham Conference Center on Central College’s campus.
Central RED Society will present “Restoring and Reconstructing Iowa’s Endangered Native Ecosystem at Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge” on Thursday, Feb. 24.
Andrew Green, Central College professor of political science, and Kurt Sernett, a 2021 Central graduate, authored a chapter of a book published digitally last year and just made available in print.
Russ Benedict, professor of biology, and Mathew Kelly, associate professor of art, collaborated with students across the biology and art programs to create and design CollidEscape stickers on a window of Vermeer Science Center on Central’s campus.
