The acronym stands for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership. The program has promoted development in the global community since its establishment in 1958.

On April 24, Central College students, faculty and staff will join together to work on dozens of volunteer projects as part of Service Day. Classes will be cancelled all day to allow students to participate.
Some Central students chose to spend their week in Texas and Louisiana building houses and serving the local communities.
Central College was named a Finalist for the Presidential Award by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). Central was one of only 14 schools in the nation—and the only one in Iowa—awarded the distinction.
