A group of 52 Central College students, high school students, other college students and adult volunteers spent their spring breaks in Slidell and New Orleans, La., serving the local communities. The volunteers roofed a house, put a new floor  on a bus used by a local ministry and worked on three houses in different stages of rebuilding since Hurricane Katrina. The group stayed at the Hartzell-Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Slidell. New Orleans artist Hank Holland (right) donated a painting to the Central College Chapel.

In partnership with Central College Campus Ministries and Habitat for Humanity chapter, eight Central students, led by worship/ministry team director Nick Rohner, worked on houses in Henderson, Texas, over spring break. The volunteers painted, stained doors, built shelves and worked on electrical installation. They worked for five days on the Habitat House but spent some “vacation” time at the Dallas World Aquarium on the way there.
