Central College will host Iowa Days of Percussion March 29-30 in Douwstra Auditorium.
This November, Central College will host a wide range of musical performances, with seven events on offer.
The new drumline will perform at campus and community events and is led by senior lecturer of music Stan Dahl.
The Flying Pans will perform on Saturday, May 4 at the Pella Opera House.
On April 20, the percussion ensemble and the Flying Pans Steel Band will join in concert at Percussion Extravaganza.
The Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble and College Community Band, both under the direction of Mitchell Lutch, associate professor of music, will present a concert with several special guest soloists Sunday, Dec. 2 in Douwstra Auditorium at 4 p.m.
The Central College Flying Pans Steel Band performs their first concert of the year, PANTIKI, on Oct. 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 4 p.m.
In a concert mixing 20th century percussion ensemble literature with African drumming, the group will perform pieces by Anders Astrand, Alice Gomez and more.
Performing on steel pan drums, the Flying Pans showcased their talents at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the largest percussion event in the world.
