Half the guests at Central College’s Oxfam America Hunger Banquet will eat a meager dinner, seated on the floor. The event will be a highlight of the college’s Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, which runs Nov. 15–20 and is sponsored by the Center for Community-Based Learning.
Calling attention to hunger and homelessness in Iowa and around the world, Central College is hosting numerous events Nov. 16-22 to promote Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
The students of the Epidemiology course organized an Oxfam Hunger Banquet to raise awareness of global food disparity. Those dining on tiny meals got to thinking about what waste and nutrition really mean.
