Naomi Natale, prominent artist, activist and founder of “The Cradle Project,” will host a convocation at Central College on Nov. 14.
In an age of polarized viewpoints and extremist-driven agendas, a unique New York-based non-governmental organization, Intersections International, will promote mutual understanding and dialogue while in residence at Central College Oct. 28-31.
Mike Draper, founder of RAYGUN, will be the featured speaker at a convocation at Central College Oct. 3.
Ako Abdul-Samad, member of the Iowa House of Representatives and founder and CEO of Creative Visions Human Development Institute, will host a convocation at Central College Sept. 19.
Central College is one of 58 institutions nationwide to receive support from the Institute of International Education (IIE) as part of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Public Education for Peacebuilding Support initiative.
James Farrell, professor of history, American studies, environmental studies and American conversations at St. Olaf College, will visit Central on November 15.
Beginning October 17, the Mills Gallery at Central College will host work by John Noltner, an award-winning author and photographer. The exhibit, titled “A Peace of My Mind,” will feature photographs of ordinary people with insightful views.
Conner Grennan will be on campus to talk about his memoir “Little Princes,” Thursday, Sept. 13. Grennan’s book was chosen as the 2012 common read.
Carrie Newcomer, American folk singer and songwriter, will perform a concert of her original works Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. She will also deliver an address at the Intersections convocation at 11 a.m. the same day.
