Following the death of her grandmother, Luanne Voltmer Marten ‘80 rediscovered her love for art. Today, she illustrates children’s books and sells her professional artwork.
A dancer and sculptor, Sha Sha Higby creates costumes, masks and sculptures influenced by movement. Her work will be displayed in the Mills Gallery from Sept. 28-Oct. 28.
The exhibit features 50 stoles that include stories and prayers from gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people of faith.
The Mills Gallery in the Lubbers Center for the Visual Arts will house an exhibit from Sarah Grant, a nationally recognized artist from Des Moines, until September 16.
