Central College is known in the Pella community and throughout Iowa for its exemplary music program, which allows majors and non-majors alike to participate in 18 vocal and instrumental ensembles. During the spring semester Central students will host a variety of concerts on campus and in Pella.
As the holiday season approaches, Central College celebrates with various musical concerts to ring in the season.
In celebration of the 2012 Homecoming/Family Weekend, Central College welcomes alumni, family and friends to campus Sept. 28-30. Over the weekend, visitors are invited to join in activities, enjoy performances, watch athletic events and catch up with classmates.
This fall, Central students will host a variety of concerts on campus and in Pella.
The ensembles will be featured as guest choirs in the Choral Evensong, a series of events for the whole community hosted by the Cathedral Church of St. Paul that is designed to encourage spiritual and artistic growth.
The A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers, Handbell Choir and College-Community Orchestra will present Christmas music by Camille Saint-Saëns, Stephen Paulus, John Rutter and others.
The A Cappella Choir, College-Community Chorus and College-Community Orchestra will come together to host two performances of Mozart’s “Requiem Mass in D Minor” Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday Nov. 13.
