World-renowned scientist Ronald Phillips will speak at 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at Central College. His presentation on Norman Borlaug and world hunger is free and open to the public in the Cox-Snow Recital Hall.
Phillips, author of “The Legacy of Norman Borlaug,” is part of the World Food Prize Lecture Laureate Series. He has been recognized for outstanding work in applied plant genomics and is a founding member and former director of the Plant Molecular Genetics Institute.
This year is the hundredth anniversary of Borlaug’s birth. Borlaug founded the World Food Prize in 1986.
