PELLA — Central College’s Anne Petrie, professor of music, will perform the semester’s first Notes @ Noon concert Wednesday, Feb. 9, in Cox-Snow Recital Hall. Petrie will be accompanied by Patrice Ewoldt, visiting assistant professor of music, on piano. The concert begins at noon and is free and open to the public. A second performance will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, at noon at the Pella Opera House.
Petrie, a soprano vocalist, will perform “Caro mio ben” by Tommaso Giordani, “Ich liebe dich” by Ludwig van Beethoven, selections from The Italian Songbook by Hugo Wolf, “The Song is You” from Music in the Air and “All the Things You Are” from Very Warm for May. Petrie will also perform a piece called “Missed Connections” by David Sisco, composed of text from craigslist.com. It contains sections such as “Oh Starbucks!!” “Sad Panda,” and “Endless-summer-taco-man” among others.
