PELLA, Iowa — Central College will hold an international dinner featuring foods from every study abroad location on Wednesday, March 30. The meal is served in Graham Conference Center starting at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per person, $6 for children 6-10 and students with a Central College ID. Children 5 and under are free. The menu selection includes cheese and baguettes (Paris, France); cheese and onion wrapped pasties from (Bangor, Wales); egg rolls and pot stickers from (Hangzhou, China); Dutch lettuce from (Leiden, the Netherlands); paella from (Granada, Spain); fish and chips (London, England); euro bread (Vienna, Austria); Mexican cake and churros (Merida, Mexico); and hot tea, coffee and water to drink.
Following the dinner, Central College’s Red Vocal and Instrumental Combo will perform a concert in the Cox-Snow Recital Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 or free with Central I.D. and can be obtained at the Information Booth in the Maytag Student Center by calling 641-628-9000.
Students will sing songs with an international flare. The combos are under the direction of Gabriel Espinosa, associate professor of music.
Vocal combo members include Ashley Albaugh of Clarence, Iowa; Jeff Ewing of Clinton, Wis.; Meghan Freme of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Libby Herriot of Oregon, Ill.; Rachel Lehr of Indianola, Iowa; Spencer Meyer of Adel, Iowa; Meghan Nelson of Treynor, Iowa; Kylie Sampson of Story City, Iowa; and Taylor Schuelke of Rosemount, Minn.
Band members include Peter Fegley of Cedar Falls, Iowa, on drums; Tyler Coleman of Milford, Iowa, on guitar; Chandler Capron of Anamosa, Iowa, on guitar; and Zachary Jacobs of Battle Creek, Mich., on piano.
