The A Capella Choir, Chamber Singers, Handbell Choir and College-Community Orchestra will perform their annual Christmas Candlelight Concerts Dec. 13-14 at 8 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium.

There will be an additional performance Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. There will be a dinner before the Dec. 13-14 performances in the Harry and Bernice Vermeer Banquet Hall at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will include familiar Christmas classics, with audience participation on “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night.” Portions of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” will also be performed during the concert.

“The Christmas Candlelight Concerts are one of the treasured holiday traditions at Central College,” says Mark Babcock, associate professor of music and director of the A Capella Choir and Chamber Singers. “They bring the community together to celebrate the love, joy and peace of the season.”

There will be a reception following the performances in Douwstra Auditorium in the Graham Atrium Dec. 13-14.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students and free with a Central ID. Dinner tickets are separate and cost $15 per person.
