Two Central College students, senior Kari Schmidt and junior Jenna Broghamer, were awarded the Iowa Communication Association Recognition of Achievement in Speech Communication. Both are communication studies majors at Central.
In 2012, the Iowa Communication Association recognized 11 college students who completed speech communication courses with a high level of accomplishment. Recipients from four-year colleges must complete at least 18 credits of coursework in communication and earn a GPA of at least 3.25 in those courses. In addition, the students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall.
“It has been a joy to work with these dedicated students,” said Linda Laine, associate professor of communication studies at Central. “The communication studies department is very proud of their achievement.”
