Eight Central College seniors will hold their final art exhibitions in two rounds of exhibits April 23 – May 2 and May 5 –15 in the Mills Gallery in the Lubbers Center for Visual Arts. The Senior Thesis Exhibit events are free and open to the public. Mills Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The first exhibition, running April 23 – May 2, will feature Bre Riesberg, Laura Callan, Freddy Koke and Andrew O’Brien displaying their work. Riesberg, an art major from Perry, will present a selection of her paintings. Callan, an art major from Clinton, will show a selection of handmade books. Koke, a physics and art double major from Bondurant, will display paper stencils. O’Brien, an art major from Belle Plaine, will exhibit his sculptures. The reception for this group of art majors will be held from 3-5 p.m. April 27.
The second exhibition, May 5-15, will display four more seniors’ artwork. Mary Kate Oakley, an art major from Carlisle, will present a selection of paintings. Daylonnie Stacy, an art major from Peoria, Ill., will exhibit a selection of mixed-media work. Amanda Deerr, an art major from West Des Moines, will exhibit a collection of knitted and crocheted sculpture, and Emily Hart, an art major from Fort Madison, will show a selection of digital imagery. The reception for the second exhibition is TBA.
