Yesterday’s assembly at Collegio Peninsular Roger’s Hall was different from any other thanks to the visit of the young musicians of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble of Central College, Pella, Iowa in the United States.
As a part of a tour of Quintana Roo and Yucatan that included the Central College Jazz Band, the visitors offered two presentations at Roger’s Hall.
Preschool students were presented with a teaching session about flutes and trumpets. Older students, teachers and invited guests received the gift of a classic concert under the direction of Mitchell B. Lutch.
Members of The Jazz Band, from the same institution in the United States, under the direction of Yucatecan Gabriel Espinosa, also participated in the concerts.
