Central College will host the 2014 General Synod of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) June 12 – 17. The annual synod provides a forum for denominational leaders to discuss and set direction for the church. This year, several joint sessions will be held with the synod of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRC), which is also conducting its synod meeting at Central.
Hundreds of delegates from throughout North America will gather on Central’s campus during the RCA synod for meetings and discussion. The synod will consist of plenary sessions, advisory committee meetings, workshops and worship opportunities. Most business will be conducted in Central’s H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse.
During the workshop “Conversation with the College Presidents,” Central College President Mark Putnam will join leaders of other RCA- and CRC-affiliated colleges to discuss issues in higher education.
