PELLA — The Central-College Community Orchestra will perform Sunday, April 3, in Douwstra Auditorium at 4 p.m. The concert will feature special performances by the winners of the 2011 Concerto Aria competition and is free and open to the public.
Kelilah Brown of Newton, bassoonist, will perform “Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra in F Major” by Carl Maria von Weber. Alex Carlson of Red Oak, tenor, will perform “Messiah” by George Frederic Handel. Other selections include “Funeral March of a Marionette” by Charles Gounod, “Nimrod” by Edward Elgar and “In the Hall of the Mountain King” by Edward Grieg.
The College-Community Orchestra is under the direction of Ty Myers, director of orchestra and assistant professor of music.
