“Stealing Rembrandts” and College Museum Art Thefts

The national higher education magazine, Inside Higher Ed, published a feature article about art thefts at college-affiliated museums. The article’s author explored thefts after reading the 2012 book, Stealing Rembrandts: The Untold Stories of Notorious Art Heists. It shared the Central alumni magazine’s recap of the 1984 theft of 11 pieces of the Brower Collection from Central’s Geisler Library. The 11 pieces were the work of predominantly 17th-century Dutch masters, donated to the college in 1966 by Frank and Suzanne Brower, 1927 of Beverly Hills, California. Frank Brower was a longtime trustee of the college.  Read More at Inside Higher Ed.
