Joshua Cheek ’21, a second-year medical student at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, published an article as the first author in Exposure and Health. The article “Environmental Nickel Exposure and Cardiovascular Disease in a Nationally Representative Sample of U.S. Adults,” was released in June 2023. Sara Shuger Fox, associate professor of kinesiology, worked with Cheek on the research linking nickel and cardiovascular disease. Read more at Exposure and Health.
