Ellen Huibregtse Severin ’48 shared memories of her life with the local Carroll newspaper. She was a teacher at the Carroll school from 1960 until her retirement in 1988, and substituted until 2016. Severin credits her longevity to eating right, exercising and refraining from alcohol and smoking. Severin’s 100th birthday celebration will be Sunday, Aug. 23.
