PELLA — The 2011 Central College High School Singfest will feature students from 22 high schools across the state. The 130-member choir will perform at an evening concert Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium. The concert will also feature the Central College A Cappella Choir, Chamber Singers and Festival Choir. The concert is free and open to the public.
The High School Honor Choir, under the direction of Central’s Mark Babcock, associate professor of music, will perform a variety of selections, including “My Spirit Sang All Day” by Finzi, “Ave Maria” by Biebl, “O Clap Your Hands” by Vaughan Williams and others. Davis Folkerts, professor emeritus of music, will accompany on piano.
