Kelsey Kaska ’06 has joined Central College as the assistant director of alumni relations. She will begin in her position on Monday, Aug. 15.
“Kelsey brings with her a diverse professional background with tremendous communication skills,” said Ann Van Hemert, director of alumni relations. “I have no doubt she will jump right in with new ideas and initiatives.”
Kaska has just earned a master’s degree in sociology from Iowa State University. In her position at Central, she will assist the alumni relations office in connecting with over 16,000 alumni. She’ll help organize and carry out programing like regional alumni events, lifelong learning courses, corporate networking and relationship building.
“Higher education is something that I care about, and being a part of the alumni relations team gives me a chance to promote the values of a college education by interacting with lots of different people,” said Kaska.
As a 2006 alumna, Kaska has close ties to Central College. She also worked at Central as an AmeriCorps VISTA for Iowa Campus Compact from 2006-2007.
“The time I spent here as a student produced some of my most memorable experiences, both in and out of the classroom,” said Kaska. “Being back at Central, I’ll have the chance to share those experiences with new people and hear the stories that they remember most.”
