The Central RED Society will visit Barnswallow Flowers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The group will learn about flower farming sustainability in Iowa, how to harvest flowers and create bouquets to take home.
Meredith Nunnikhoven, a fifth-generation Iowa farmer, will also share the legacy of the farm, her invention of the compostable vase and an introduction on how to grow and care for dahlias that bloom in August.
The cost is $25 and does not include lunch. Attendees must register by Friday, Aug. 23, and are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and their own drinking water.
