Central College’s Class of 2023 Senior Art Exhibition will include three art installations presented by Renee Pedersen, art major, Jaden Culbertson, art major, and Tessa Brubaker, art minor. Their independent works will be on display from Wednesday, April 19, through Friday, May 12.
The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A reception for the artists will be held 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 23, in the Mills Gallery, Lubbers Center on Central’s campus. All three students will be available to talk about their creative process and answer questions about their works.
Pederson’s project, titled “The Unknown,” is inspired by scale models and fantastical worlds in film. Her project consists of a collection of photographs taken from her own scale model, suggesting abandoned dwellings or ritualistic spaces long forgotten.
Culbertson’s paper sculpture installation, “I Must Create,” encourages its audience to question and pay mind to the production-centered culture of America.
Brubaker’s work explores the stages of twin flame relationships in a series of acrylic paintings titled “Us.”
