Central College’s Central RED Society will host “Spring Charcuterie Class” with Bryce Friederich, catering manager at Central, and Sarah Bergan, owner of Vowed Vintage. This hands-on class will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, Boat Moore Weller Rooms, Maytag Student Center on Central’s campus. The presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. with heavy appetizers. The class fee is $40. Space is limited to 40 participants.
Friederich and Bergan will lead a charcuterie building class including tips and tricks, cheese and wine pairings and take-home items to help make an impressive charcuterie board. Participants will be able to ask the designers questions and experiment with themes, flavors and designs.
Friederich graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in hospitality management. He began his role at Central in 2021. Bergan is the owner and founder of Vowed Vintage, a Des Moines-based event design and rental company serving central Iowa and beyond.
Central RED (Ready to Engage and Discover) is a volunteer-driven, lifelong learning and social organization with an abiding partnership with Central alumni and friends who wish to share knowledge, talents and experiences.
To celebrate Central RED’s 10-year anniversary, no membership fee will be charged from June 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023. All classes and workshops are available for the public to attend. You must register and pay meal costs in advance for each class you will be attending.
