Leo Bird ’14 submitted an illustration he names “CUIFS,” based on his perspective of the dining center at Central College, to the Greater Des Moines Exhibited show. He earned honorable mention from a show featuring sixty-eight pieces of art from forty-two artists. The exhibit presents one best of show, three merit awards and three honorable mentions. The exhibit juror Jonathan Berger referenced Bird’s art to the likeness to At the Moulin Rouge, an oil on canvas painting by French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Bird was featured in the Fall 2022 Civitas. Read more at Polk County Heritage Gallery.
