Stavros Papakonstantinidis, associate professor of communication studies at Central College, has co-authored a chapter in the newly released book, “Promotional Practices and Perspectives from Emerging Markets.”

The chapter, titled “Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets: An Empirical Study on Digital Natives in Kuwait,” decodes the entrepreneurial mindset of the digital natives living in the Middle East, particularly in Kuwait. It addresses the question of what needs to be done in an emerging market and a wealthy state such as Kuwait to enhance entrepreneurship.

The study offers evidence showing the role of technology as a driving force for increasing the entrepreneurial capacity of digital natives. It also discusses the practical implications of encouraging entrepreneurship and reducing anxiety. This study contributes to the literature by being the first to explore the entrepreneurial capacity and intention of the digital natives living in Kuwait.

At Central, Papakonstantinidis focuses on digital, oral and strategic communications, public relations and multimedia writing.

He co-authored this chapter with Piotr Kwiatek, associate professor of marketing, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. The two co-authored a chapter in another academic book in 2021 titled “The Emerald Handbook of Women and Entrepreneurship in Developing Economies.”
