Central College announces the names of the Student Senate executive officers who will lead student government for the 2026-27 academic year.
- Jay Kimbrough has been elected student body president. He is a Class of 2027 kinesiology major from Chicago, Illinois.
- Bailey Acton was elected for the senate leader role. She is a Class of 2027 biology major from Winterset, Iowa.
- Andrew Mahaffey was selected to serve as treasurer. He is a Class of 2028 music education–instrumental major from Guthrie Center, Iowa.
- Donovan Klish was elected as secretary. He is a Class of 2028 political science and sociology major from Liberty, Missouri.
- Alex Volden was elected to the parliamentarian role. He is a Class of 2028 psychology major from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Central’s Student Senate seeks to establish an effective and representative government for the students of the college. The senate implements policies that benefit all Central students and strives to encourage collaboration among faculty, administrative staff, student senators and students.
The senate is elected by its peers to strengthen the connection between students and the administration, faculty, staff and the college’s board of trustees. The creation, recognition and financial support for student organizations is a regular part of the senate’s work.
