Central College received five Best of District VI awards from the Midwest Division of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. All entries were created in 2024.
The alumni magazine, Civitas, won in the alumni/general interest magazines category for four-year colleges and universities (printed three or more times a year).
An article in Civitas and on the athletics website, “Preserving Iowa Prairie One Fire at a Time,” won in the writing category: News feature for pieces 1,000 or more words.
An article on the athletics website, “Central’s DeRocher: ’Just As Good, If Not Better’,” also won in the writing category: News feature for pieces 1,000 or more words.
Forever Dutch® Roast: Brewing Support for Student Scholarships won in the marketing initiative (10-25 staff) category.
The year-end calendar fundraising campaign, On Track for Greatness, won in the fundraising- annual /regular giving campaigns (10-25 staff) category. This entry also won a silver award at the national awards competition.
“I love that our incredibly talented team continues to be recognized by peers across the Midwest,” says Sunny Gonzales Eighmy, vice president for advancement and a 1999 Central graduate. “And, I know the Central family recognizes how committed the team is to building meaningful connections with future students and donors.”
