Central College burst into the new academic year with a record-breaking Journey 48-Hour Challenge fundraiser. During the challenge running Aug. 27 to 29, the Central family raised $176,703 for student scholarships.
“We are honored and awed by the tremendous support during the Journey 48-Hour Challenge this year,” says Michelle Wilkie, director of development. “Central alumni and family invest in students because they know the value of a Central education and the benefits to our world when we graduate the next class of successful alumni. Our team sends a huge thank you to everyone who chose to support Central during the challenge.”
All new incoming Central students received a Journey Scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year. This is the third year the college has awarded each new student a Journey Scholarship, funded by donors.
“Central’s community is extremely caring and supportive,” says Sunny Gonzales Eighmy, vice president for advancement and a 1999 graduate of Central. “Our donors love helping students. We are grateful for their partnership in making a Central education affordable for all.”
