Central College’s Central RED Society will host “Pella Tulip Time Royal Court” on Wednesday, April 19. Presenting will be Cheyne Plants, 2023 Tulip Queen, along with attendants Tatum Carlstone, Anna DeNooy, Avery Verhoef and Ellie Wogen.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. in Dave and Ardie Sutphen Common Room, Graham Annex, on Central’s campus. The presentation begins at 6 p.m. The cost is $15, and a cash bar will be available.
The Tulip Time Royal Court members serve as ambassadors to Pella’s Tulip Festival, scheduled for May 4-6, 2023. The Tulip Queen and Court will explain Tulip Time, Pella’s Dutch heritage and their duties throughout the festival.
The Dutchesses, a group of high school women, will sing traditional Dutch songs and perform Dutch dances in Dutch costume, complete with wooden shoes!
Central RED (Ready to Engage and Discover) is a volunteer-driven, lifelong learning and social organization with an abiding partnership with Central alumni and friends who wish to share knowledge, talents and experiences.
To celebrate Central RED’s 10-year anniversary, no membership fee will be charged from June 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023. All classes and workshops are available for the public to attend. You must register and pay meal costs in advance for each class you will be attending.
