Curtis Bauer, Poet, Will Speak at Writers Reading Series

Curtis Bauer will read at Central College's Writers Reading.

Central College will welcome Curtis Bauer, poet and Central Class of 1992 graduate, to the Fall 2022 Writers Reading Series. Bauer will read from his collection of works at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Boat, Moore and Weller Rooms in Maytag Student Center on Central’s campus. The event is free and open to the public.

In addition to a public reading of poetry, Bauer will visit several Central classes and attend meetings with students on Friday, Oct. 28, before returning to Texas.

Bauer is the author of three poetry collections as well as a translator of poetry and prose from Spanish. He has led readings, lectures and workshops in Spanish and English across the U.S. and in Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela and Spain.

Geisler Library’s Writers Reading Series started in 1987 to promote an appreciation of books and their authors. It features locally, nationally and internationally known writers who read and discuss their works.
