Central College’s Central RED Society will present “Exploring the World by Bicycle,” a presentation by Susan Carpenter set for noon Tuesday, March 24, in the Dave and Ardie Sutphen Common Room in Graham Annex. Cost is $10, with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Carpenter will present a photo essay of bicycle touring in Southeast Asia and beyond. She has traveled in Vietnam and Cambodia, along the river and canals of France, Patagonia and most recently Paris and the French countryside.

Carpenter retired in 2017 from Iowa State University where she taught and did research in virology and microbiology. Over the last 10 years, she has traveled by bicycle on five continents.

Central RED (Ready to Engage and Discover) is a volunteer-driven, lifelong learning and social organization with an abiding partnership with Central College alumni and friends who wish to share knowledge, talents and experiences. Members pay $20 annually to join Central RED.
