Leslie Duinink has been appointed registrar at Central College. She has served as interim registrar since July 2018, focusing on increasing transparency and decreasing redundancy of work for students and faculty.

Duinink, also associate professor of exercise science, graduated from Central in 1990 with a major in history and an emphasis in secondary education. She earned her master’s degree in physical education (athletic training) from Indiana State University and has spent the past 21 years in various roles at Central.

Duinink served for 10 years as an elected faculty member of the curriculum committee, seven as secretary and one as chair. She currently is the class dean for the Class of 2021 and previously for the classes of 2013 and 2017.

“Leslie brings exceptional experience and understanding to the role of registrar,” says Mary Strey, vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty. “Her experience has given her the opportunity to recognize opportunities for curricular innovation, process clarification and student support.

“Leslie’s unique blend of leadership as an elected faculty member on the curriculum committee and as class dean serve her well in this role and will continue to benefit the college and our students,” Strey adds.

Duinink teaches classes in athletic training and exercise science and has been both assistant and head athletic trainer at Central.
