The MidWestOne Bank Foundation has donated $20,000 to Central College’s renovation of Douwstra Auditorium.

“Central College is excited to have MidWestOne as a partner in the renovation of Douwstra Auditorium,” says Michelle Wilkie, Central’s corporate relations and major gifts officer.

“From music camps to concerts, Douwstra serves as the venue for countless events and activities that engage people all across our state,” Wilkie adds. “We’re grateful for partners like MidWestOne who are helping make this renovation possible.”

Douwstra has been the heart of Central’s campus since it was built as the college’s chapel in 1939. Since then, Douwstra has been a gathering place for concerts, lectures, convocation and baccalaureate. With the renovation, the college has a state-of-the-art performance and gathering space that honors the building’s historic architecture.

“The MidWestOne Bank foundation supports capital campaigns that benefit the communities we serve,” says Amy Hospodarsky, secretary and treasurer of the MidWestOne Bank Foundation. “We are proud to make a gift toward the renovation of Douwstra Auditorium. We love that this project will not only serve the students and faculty of Central, but the whole community and region. We are proud to support a project that will continue to allow people to be exposed to the arts and will continue to grow and enhance that experience.”
