Central College will continue the fall 2017 Faculty Lecture Series with a presentation by Jeremia Njeru, associate professor of sociology and anthropology. His lecture, “Clean Water as Community Development,” takes place Monday, Nov. 27, from 7 – 8 p.m. in the Boat and Moore rooms of Maytag Student Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Njeru, whose areas of expertise include human geography and community development, will explore clean water’s essential role in community growth. Water resources play a specific role in the economic and social development of nations. Njeru will discuss this concept in relation to sub-Saharan African countries, specifically Kenya.
Njeru’s lecture is the third and final installment in the fall 2017 Faculty Lecture Series. The series will continue in spring 2018.
