The Central College Flying Pans Steel Band will perform a fall concert Friday – Saturday, Oct. 27-28, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium.
Directed by senior lecturer of music Stan Dahl, the group will present the Caribbean-rock production “Aquasteel.” This water-themed musical journey includes special light and video effects and songs including “Black Water” by The Doobie Brothers, “The River of Dreams” by Billy Joel and “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” by Dropkick Murphys, as well as original songs by Dahl.
Tickets can be purchased at Cox-Snow Music Center until Thursday, Oct. 26, and then at Douwstra Auditorium the day of performances or reserved online at www.central.edu/fine-arts or by calling the Cox-Snow Music Center at 641-628-5383. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens and students.
