Comedian Jeff Dye presents a show at Central College Feb. 4. The event begins at 8 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium and will be opened by Mitch Burrows. The show was planned by Central students and sponsored by Campus Activities Board. The event is open to the public, and guests may purchase tickets online for $10.

Besides performing stand-up comedy across America, Dye has hosted two MTV series, appeared in “Better Late Than Never” with William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Henry Winkler, and was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”

Mitch Burrow became a comedian after serving with the Marine Corps in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2015, he won Comcast’s Trial by Laughter and placed second in the Seattle International Comedy Competition. He has also appeared in Fox Show Laughs, Bob and Tom, the Great American Comedy Festival and other shows.

Campus Activities Board member McKenna Kilburg was one of seven Central students who planned the event. Kilburg, a junior biology major from Lisbon, said the group gathered student opinions throughout the fall semester to inform their choices. “We could not be more thrilled,” Kilburg said. “We chose Jeff because we are confident that he’s perfect for our students, and they’re always the center of our work.”
