Pella residents are invited to participate Oct. 5 in a one-mile walk sponsored by Central College and Pella Corporation. The walk is part of a larger program called the Healthiest State Initiative, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to making Iowa the healthiest state in the nation. The organization encourages Iowans to join the cause by walking in the Healthiest State Walk each October.
The walk begins at Central’s Maytag Student Center at 11:45 a.m. and lasts 15-20 minutes, with the option for participants to continue on another loop around campus if they choose. In case of rain, the walk will be held in A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex.
Central College and Hy-Vee dieticians will be available for information and to answer questions. Participants can also enter Hy-Vee’s drawing for two $100 gift cards.
