Central College will host alumni, family and friends for Homecoming Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Guests of all ages can participate in events including Friday’s street festival, Saturday’s tailgate lunch and football game, and Sunday’s music performances.

Unique to this year’s homecoming is the 50th anniversary celebration of Upward Bound. Former students, staff and tutor-counselors will celebrate their reunion during football halftime Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday brunch. Read more about Upward Bound’s 50 years at Central.

The play “Boeing-Boeing” runs at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28-Oct. 1 in Kruidenier Center. Winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Revival, “Boeing-Boeing” is a comedy set in 1966. The play also honors Central’s class of ’66, which celebrates 50 years during Homecoming. For tickets, call 641-628-9000.

On Sunday, alumni of the Flying Pans are invited to participate in the 10th annual Homecoming alumni concert at noon in Douwstra Auditorium. Also, Central’s A Cappella Choir will present a free concert at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, followed by the Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s performance at 1:30 p.m. in Douwstra Auditorium.
