The Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble will sponsor a variety show fundraiser in Graham Banquet Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Faculty, administrators and staff will perform solo, with ensemble members or with other colleagues. Audience members will cast votes for their favorite performers on dollar bills and submit them in ballot boxes. See line-up below.
All proceeds will help support the ensemble’s January tour in New Orleans. The ensemble will host performances and contribute time to ongoing relief efforts during the tour.
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is an auditioned 40-piece instrumental group and one of the premier ensembles at Central. It hosts two major concerts each semester and tours annually, with an international tour every fourth year. The ensemble recently traveled to Memphis, Tenn.; Boston, Mass.; New York City and Merida, Mexico.
The group is under the direction of Mitch Lutch, director of bands and assistant professor of music.
The event is open to the public and there is no additional admission charge.
