To help support the Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s tour to Dallas, Texas in January, the ensemble is hosting the third annual Faculty, Administration and Student Variety Show.
Faculty members, administrators and students will present several acts including singers, instrumentalists, comedy and more. In addition to student acts, members of the faculty and administration are slated to participate.
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is an auditioned 40-piece instrumental group and one of the premier ensembles at Central. It hosts two major concerts each semester and tours annually, with an international tour every fourth year. While in on tour, the students will sightsee and perform as well as take part in service outreach through the Pinewood Hills Senior Living Center and the Dallas Metro Alliance for the Homeless.
The event is free and open to the public, but audience members are encouraged to make a donation to their favorite acts. All proceeds will benefit the Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s tour.
The variety show is Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Harry and Bernice Vermeer Banquet Hall in the Graham Conference Center.
