Associate professor of education Jen Diers, with husband Doug Diers, received Pella’s Character Counts award Nov. 10. The award is given to community members who demonstrate trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Diers was recognized for commitment to students, including her trip with students to an orphanage in Sierra Leone, Africa.
