The Dutch heritage of Pella can be paralleled with the German heritage and pride of Manning, Iowa. Learn about the community’s uniqueness at the next Central Red Society gathering Thursday, Dec. 5.

Join Tim Weible as he presents “Manning is a Little Pella … Except We Are German.” Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation to follow in the Dave and Ardie Sutphen Common Room, Graham Annex on Central’s campus. The cost is $20.

Manning was established in 1881 after becoming the site of a depot along the Iowa Southwestern railroad. Weible will share the history of Manning and how it has become one of the best small towns in Iowa. Weible is a 1973 graduate of Manning High School and a graduate of Iowa State University with a business administration and economics degree. His career was in pharmaceutical sales, and he is now a professional tour guide for the Heritage Park in Manning.
