The Marion County Development Commission recently announced the 2021 Red Rock Area Top 10 Under 40. Steffanie Bonnstetter, senior content strategist – marketing and project management at Central College, was recognized as one of the 10 outstanding individuals under 40.
Nominees were chosen for their involvement in community initiatives, impact through their professional careers and leadership qualities. Bonnstetter has lived in Marion County and worked at Central since 2006. She started as an admission counselor and shifted to the communications and marketing team in 2012.
Throughout her career at Central, Bonnstetter has been actively involved in the college’s annual Service-Learning Day and served as a judge for the National History Day contest. She assisted with fundraising efforts for the former Pella Early Learning Center. She participated in the Leadership Red Rock Program and has assisted with marketing and fundraising efforts on the Spirit of Pella organization. Bonnstetter recently joined the Marion County Development Commission. In this role, she provides a voice for economic growth and tourism throughout the county. Bonnstetter clearly is a dedicated volunteer committed to bringing positive growth to both the Pella community and Marion County.
“Steffanie is a wealth of knowledge about all things Marion County, which absolutely benefits our work at Central. In addition, her compassion for students and her love for Central College, Pella, Marion County and Iowa has no limits,” says Denise Lamphier, director of integrated marketing communications and media.
“Steffanie is one of those people who helps drive a thriving work culture. She is a natural-born leader. People listen to and seek out her advice and opinions both at work and in volunteer settings. She has a way of connecting with everyone she works with that makes them feel heard and respected, even when she is pushing them to take things to the next level,” Lamphier says.
Central also won a Best of Red Rock Award for Best Caterer. Central has frequently won top honors in these categories in the past. The Best of Red Rock Awards honor businesses and organizations throughout the county in 55 categories, based on votes from area residents.
