Central College’s Central RED Society will present “Origami for Anyone and Everyone!” with Russ Goodman, professor of mathematics, on Monday, Dec. 6, in Dave and Ardie Sutphen Common Room in Graham Annex.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 6 p.m. Cost is $25, and a cash bar will be available. Class is limited to 40 participants, and membership to Central RED is required to attend.
Origami is the art of paper folding and is commonly associated with Japanese culture. In this class, participants will learn basic techniques and vocabulary in origami and leave with cool creations to show off to friends and family.
Goodman has taught mathematics at Central since 2002. He loves to learn about and share the patterns, beauty and creativity found in mathematics. Goodman also is assistant coach for the Central women’s soccer team, which connects well with his interest in working with sports data.
