Central College’s Central RED Society will present “Nothing Compares to the Iowa State Fair” with an executive from the Iowa State Fair. The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Graham Annex at Central.
Frequently ranked as one of the top events in the country, the Iowa State Fair is the single largest event in the state of Iowa and one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. It annually attracts more than one million people from all over the world.
Mindy Williamson, director of marketing for the Iowa State Fair, will share details about what makes the fair so special. A veteran Iowa marketing, public relations and communications professional, Williamson lives on an acreage in Madison County with her family where they raise a few crops, chickens and 4-H show pigs.
Participants must be a member of the Central RED (“Ready to Engage and Discover”) Society to attend. A Central RED membership costs $25 per year. To become a member, contact Mary Benedict at benedictm@central.edu or 641-628-7641. No affiliation with Central is required to join.
