Keith Ratzlaff, professor of English at Central College, describes his forthcoming collection of poems as a “book of elegies.” The book, titled “Who’s Asking?,” addresses both family matters and the state of the world.
“I never set out to do thematic things,” Ratzlaff says. However, the poems are still connected. “Each poem hands itself off to the next.”
Ratzlaff is scheduled to do an exclusive reading from “Who’s Asking” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in Central College’s Upper Chapel. The reading will feature poems from the book, which is scheduled to release in 2019, among others. The reading is free and open to the public.
“Not all is darkness,” Ratzlaff says. “I think hope can be found at the end.”
