Central College has named Sunny Eighmy interim vice president for advancement. Eighmy, a 1999 Central graduate, has more than 13 years’ professional experience at the college. She most recently served as director of college relations/board professional since 2012. Eighmy has also served as assistant director of advancement and director of alumni relations.
Eighmy graduated from Central with a degree in communication, also lettering in volleyball and track and field. This year, she completed a master’s degree in integrated media communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Eighmy has also worked as a self-employed external media relations consultant in Chicago, retail field marketing specialist at Pella Corporation, sports information director at William Penn University and sports editor at the Oskaloosa Herald. Eighmy and her husband, Nathan ’99, live in Pella with their four children.
Bill Northup, former vice president for advancement, recently completed more than three years of service in that role, leaving Central in September.

As Sunny steps forward to take on this new assignment, she will lead a talented staff of professionals who share a deep and abiding passion for the college.”
