Weaver displays work in Mills Gallery at Central

March 25, 2014

Weaver Jennifer Moore will be the Allison B. Allen artist-in-residence at Central College March 31-April 4. An exhibit of her work will be displayed in the Mills Gallery March 26-April 18.

Moore holds a master of fine arts in weaving from the University of Oregon. Through her double-weave wall pieces, she uses her background in piano and pipe organ to explore the relationships between weaving, music and mathematics. Her thesis project, “Chromatic Fantasy,” was based on Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Chromatic Fantasy” and geometry’s interplay in the visual format of weaving.

Moore will be giving two design workshops from 7-9:30 p.m. in the Mills Gallery April 1 and 3. These events are free and open to the public.

Moore’s work can be seen during gallery hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Treva Reimer at reimert@central.edu or 641-628-5334.
